A Romantic Black-Tie Wedding at The Inn at Crestwood

Some love stories take years to reveal their purpose. Doris and Tony grew up in the same neighborhood, surrounded by shared friendships, familiar streets, and overlapping worlds — yet they remained strangers for years. Their lives ran parallel until one simple conversation changed everything. That conversation never truly ended and continues to unfold today, leading them to a breathtaking black-tie wedding at The Inn at Crestwood in Boone, North Carolina.

Their wedding weekend was an intentional blend of romance, thoughtful logistics, and elevated design, set against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Event spaces include:

  • Main Dining Room & Gallery

  • Library

  • Lounge

  • Dawgstar Bar

  • Terrace with sweeping mountain views

  • Lawn & Patio for outdoor celebrations

The flexibility of these spaces made it easy to transition Doris and Tony’s wedding from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception — a major advantage when planning a Boone, North Carolina destination wedding.

For cocktail hour, Doris and Tony selected:

  • A basic charcuterie display featuring cured meats, domestic cheeses, crackers, mustard, and fresh fruit

  • Smoked trout dip with artisan crisps

All appetizers were beautifully displayed on a stationary table, allowing guests to mingle comfortably on the terrace.

Their hosted bar included beer and wine selections such as:

  • Boone Shine Tropic Pale Ale

  • East Boone Pilsner

  • Caposaldo Pinot Grigio

  • DeLoach Cabernet Sauvignon

  • LaMarca Prosecco

Wedding Weekend Logistics & Planning

Doris and Tony welcomed guests traveling from across the U.S. and internationally. To keep everyone connected, they rented a large Airbnb in Boone, which served as both lodging and the rehearsal dinner location.

Transportation was thoughtfully handled by the couple themselves, allowing for extra quality time with loved ones — a meaningful choice that added to the warmth of the weekend.

They also transported and organized extensive décor, signage, linens, attire, and weekend essentials. Candle centerpieces were shipped ahead of time, inventoried, assembled, and installed on-site. Each centerpiece consisted of 25 individual pieces, with 18 total arrangements creating a romantic, candlelit atmosphere.

After dinner, guests were invited to the terrace for a large group photo while the reception space was transformed into a spacious dance floor — a reveal that left guests in awe.

The Design: A Black-Tie Wedding in the Mountains

Doris and Tony envisioned a black, white, and gold color palette with timeless elegance and romantic candlelight. Their black-tie Boone, NC wedding was elevated through refined details and lush florals.

Harvest Farm Florist brought the vision to life with:

  • Ceremony arbor florals

  • Bouquets and boutonnieres

  • Bud vases and compotes

  • Cocktail hour arrangements

Black velvet bows adorned ceremony chairs, cocktail tables, and the cake table, paired with personalized tags. Custom menus completed each place setting, adding a thoughtful finishing touch.
