Dessert: Sweet Treats from Boone, NC
Dessert was lovingly handled by a dear friend of the couple, who brought down an assortment of incredible cookies from Stickboy Bakery in Boone, North Carolina. The locally loved bakery added a warm, familiar sweetness that guests couldn’t get enough of.
The Logistics: A Mountain Biking Wedding Like No Other
Trisha and David are avid mountain bikers, and many of their guests share the same passion. Instead of a traditional post-ceremony timeline, they designed an unforgettable experience that turned their wedding into a shared adventure.
After the ceremony, Trisha and David recessed back to their dressing rooms to change into their biking kits. Pop-up changing stations were set up so guests could do the same. Within just 15 minutes, a group of excited friends and family were lined up, ready to ride.
Together, they biked down the same mountain trail where Trisha and David first discovered Moore’s Springs Manor.
The energy was electric—palpable in the air—and easily one of the most joyful and unique wedding moments imaginable. Trailers were stationed at the bottom of the mountain to shuttle guests back to the venue, where the celebration continued seamlessly.
Upon returning, guests were greeted by beer burros serving cold beer, creating both a memorable photo opportunity and a perfect transition back into cocktail hour.
The Wedding Design: Minimalist, Thoughtful, and Venue-Focused
Trisha and David embraced a minimalist wedding design, intentionally allowing the natural beauty of Moores Springs Manor to shine. They made use of items available in the venue’s charming “prop barn,” borrowing wooden chargers and glass vases to create their own arrangements.
With a venue as stunning as Moore’s Springs Manor, very little additional décor is needed. The thoughtful, understated design enhanced the space rather than competing with it—proof that sometimes less truly is more.
The Timing: A Perfect September Wedding in the Mountains
Their wedding took place in mid-September, an ideal time for a North Carolina mountain wedding. Cooler temperatures, lush greenery, and early hints of fall foliage created a comfortable and visually stunning backdrop.
An early afternoon ceremony allowed for a relaxed, well-paced morning. Trisha shared a first look with her bridesmaids, while David spent time upstairs in the game room with his groomsmen. Soon after, David was escorted to the stone gazebo to wait for his first look with Trisha—a quiet, emotional moment before the festivities began.
Following the ceremony and bike ride, cocktail hour was hosted outdoors so guests could explore the gardens, greenhouse, and poolside lounge areas. Guests were later invited inside for introductions and the couple’s first dance to “Swept Away (Sentimental Version)” by The Avett Brothers.
While guests enjoyed dinner, Trisha and David snuck away for sunset photos, returning to plates thoughtfully prepared just for them. Heartfelt toasts followed, along with Trisha’s dance with her dad and David’s dance with Anne.
The Ceremony: Intimate and Meaningful
The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn between the manor and the pavilion, with the gardens serving as a lush backdrop behind the couple. The location offered welcome shade on a warm afternoon and created an intimate, serene setting.
A dear friend officiated the ceremony, delivering words that were personal, heartfelt, and perfectly reflective of Trisha and David’s journey together.
A Wedding That Truly Reflected the Couple
